Rate My Comeback — free AI comeback scoring

Rate My Comeback is a free tool by WitPit. Paste what they said and what you fired back, and The Judge — a calibrated AI comeback judge — scores it 1–10 on Creativity, Relevance, and Humor, with a one-line verdict and specific coaching. No signup, results in about 3 seconds.

How the Judge scores

The Judge uses one fixed rubric for everyone: 5 is what most people would say, 7 is genuinely good, 8 or higher is rare (roughly the top 5% of comebacks), and 10 is never awarded. It never flatters — the same rubric applies to every comeback, every day, which is what makes scores comparable between people.

Setup of the Day

Each day there is one shared setup: the same jab for everyone, one attempt. Answer it, get scored, keep your streak, and compare your score with everyone else who faced the same line.

Beat the Judge

After scoring you, the Judge shows the comeback it would have used — self-scored on the same rubric, capped at 9 — and rewrites your own line at a 7 and at a 9 so you can see exactly what a sharper version looks like.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rate My Comeback free?

Yes. Free, no account, no email required. It's a free tool from WitPit, the daily wit-training app.

How does the AI judge score my comeback?

On a fixed 1–10 rubric across Creativity, Relevance, and Humor: 5 is average, 7 is genuinely good, 8+ is rare (roughly the top 5%), and 10 is never awarded. The same rubric applies to everyone, so scores are comparable.

What is the Setup of the Day?

One shared setup per day — the same jab for everyone, one attempt, Wordle-style. Answer it, keep a streak, and compare scores on equal terms.

Can I beat the Judge?

After your score, the Judge reveals its own comeback to the same setup, honestly self-scored on the same rubric and never a 10. Outscoring it is the game.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

General chatbots flatter — everyone's comeback is 'great'. The Judge is calibrated and consistent: one stingy rubric for every comeback, plus a daily shared setup, streaks, and duels a chat window can't offer.
